President Bartlett - a free-market, left-wing liberal with a Nobel in economics and a weird way of putting his jacket on - is running out of time; his health is deteriorating and his presidency is running out of steam.
Will the next president of the U.S. be an agnostic pro-choice conservative or a Hispanic grassroots liberal? This is, unfortunately, a dilemma that real Americans will never have to face. But, in the fictional world of The West Wing, democracy might still win over stupidity and political amoralism (or the right-wing moralism of overzealous conservatives, for that matter).
On the 25th of September the first episode of the new (seventh) season of The West Wing will air on NBC.

P.S. I have not decided yet for whom I would vote for president; although an agnostic conservative is a bargain you cannot easily say no to.
