Evolution - Devolution (revisited)
When I read about Bush’s “both sides ought to be properly taught” comment on the dispute between Evolution and the Christian conservatives in the U.S., I remembered Bob Dylan’s words of wisdom:
“We’re idiots, babe. / It’s a wonder we can even feed ourselves.”
Are they indeed considering to put scientific evolution and creationism side-by-side and teach them both to their children as valid explanations of the world around us? This can’t be right!
On the other hand, of course, I cannot forget my high school biology teacher in Greece who used to pompously say: ‘This Darwin stuff is all nonsense. If you really want to understand the miracle of life, just open the Bible!’
