Richard Feynman was unfortunately right when he lectured that we live in an unscientific age. H. Allen Orr of the University of Rochester reports in his essay DEVOLUTION (The New Yorker 2005-05-30):
In October, 2004, the [Dover Area School District’s] board decreed that ‘students will be made aware of gaps/problems in Darwin’s theory and of other theories of evolution including, but not limited to, intelligent design.’
There are still people out there that believe that we are all children of Adam and that the universe was created in 6 days. ‘And 6 days is 6 days’, as they so arrogantly declare. What is worse, is that they want us all to become like them; the Book cannot be wrong, right?
