Kafka on the Shore
Haruki Murakami’s ‘Kafka on the Shore’ is one of the most original books I have ever read. I worked hard trying to write a decent review but I just couldn’t. So… just buy the book and read it. It will be money well spent.
From John Updike’s (The New Yorker) review: Haruki Murakami’s new novel, ‘Kafka on the Shore’ (translated, from the Japanese, by Philip Gabriel; Knopf; $25.95), is a real page-turner, as well as an insistently metaphysical mind-bender.
You might also want to read Murakami’s short story ‘WHERE I’M LIKELY TO FIND IT’ featured in the current issue of The New Yorker (02 May 2005), or visit his official website.
