The Ten Commandments

Last week, the U.S. Supreme Court heard oral argument on two Ten Commandments cases, as CNN reports. Each raises the question whether a state’s public display of the Ten Command- ments violates the Establishment Clause, by communicating a state endorsement of religion.
The U.S. Constitution clearly states: “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for redress of grievances.” U.S. Const., Amend. I.
