Boris Akunin. After listening to it for so many years, I have to admit I’m a BBC Radio fan. What does this have to do with Boris Akunin? Well, BBC Worldservice is where I first heard of him. I recently listened to him being interviewed on the radio, and he caught my attention. He spoke up for decency, individualism, freedom of speech, writers as entertainers. He is against communism and soviet-nostalgia. Now, I haven’t read a word he’s written - yet - but I will.
